Leadership

At ITUS, leadership is defined by a blend of operational excellence, strategic foresight, and a deep commitment to public service. The organization is helmed by professionals with backgrounds in defense, emergency response, and international business. Their collective experience spans decades of managing high-stakes operations across varied terrains and sectors. This leadership team not only drives innovation and growth but also serves as mentors, shaping the next generation of responders and safety professionals. Their humility, discipline, and mission-first mindset reflect ITUS’s core philosophy: to serve with integrity and empower others to do the same.

Ankit Wagh

From Lifesaver to Nation-Builder

Ankit Wagh’s journey began in the water — as an international swimmer and certified lifesaver. What started with saving individual lives soon grew into a mission to strengthen an entire nation’s safety and resilience. With global experience in large-scale rescue operations and a deep understanding of India’s unique challenges, Ankit envisioned bridging the gap between international best practices and local realities.

This vision led to the founding of ITUS, a pioneering force in defense, disaster response, and maritime innovation. Under his leadership, ITUS has introduced cutting-edge technologies, advanced training programs, and collaborative partnerships with government agencies, global manufacturers, and community stakeholders.

Ankit’s work reflects a rare blend of field experience and strategic foresight—shaping India’s preparedness for floods, urban disasters, maritime safety, and national security. His journey stands as a testament to transforming personal passion into a mission of national impact.

Amit Ambedkar

A Leader with Depth and Drive

With over two decades of experience in international business tie-ups and government projects, Amit Ambedkar brings strategic depth and operational excellence to ITUS. As a seasoned business head, he has been instrumental in expanding the organization into new sectors, particularly across Maharashtra, by navigating complex partnerships and unlocking new markets.

A national-level basketball player, Amit thrives in high-pressure environments and values teamwork, agility, and resilience — qualities that reflect in his leadership style. His unique blend of strategic acumen and field-level enthusiasm continues to drive ITUS’s growth and impact.

Corporate Values

At the heart of ITUS and its training division, the Indian Rescue Academy (IRA), lies a shared foundation of courage, service, innovation, and resilience. IRA, guided by the motto “साहसेन जीवनं रक्ष्यते” – With Courage, Life is Protected, exemplifies excellence in every training module, operational deployment, and community initiative. Through inclusive programs for professionals, volunteers, and local communities, IRA fosters a culture of preparedness and responsibility. Its mission-driven mentorship, led by ex-defense and disaster management experts, ensures that individuals are not only trained but truly empowered to respond effectively in critical situations.

ITUS extends this philosophy across its broader operations, addressing real-world challenges in defense, disaster response, and maritime safety. Innovation is central to its approach—developing indigenous solutions like amphibious rescue boats, water and aerial drones, and vessel tracking systems tailored to India’s terrain and climate. Platforms such as iRescueAppSKLLS AI, and Skyllsync bring structure and agility to emergency coordination and skill development. By integrating hardware, software, and training into a unified ecosystem, ITUS builds national capability and equips institutions with the tools to act swiftly, intelligently, and sustainably.

History

Before ITUS was founded, India’s emergency response ecosystem faced significant challenges. There was no integrated system for disaster response, defense logistics, or maritime safety. Equipment was largely imported, training was fragmented, and there was no unified platform for certification or operational standards. This created critical gaps in preparedness and response capabilities.

Recognizing these systemic issues, Ankit Wagh envisioned a solution rooted in indigenous innovation—one that would be tailored to India’s unique terrain, climate, and operational realities. In 2014, ITUS was established to bridge these gaps with locally developed, globally competitive products and services. Since then, ITUS has grown into a national leader in disaster response training, safety innovation, and operational deployment, with a presence across 22+ Indian states and partnerships with key government agencies.

Over the years, ITUS has trained over 70 thousand professionals, collaborated with government agencies, and deployed teams during some of India’s most critical disaster events. From coastal lifeguard programs to advanced technical rescue operations, ITUS has consistently demonstrated its ability to adapt, innovate, and lead in the field of public safety.
